Standards and Feedback
Sun Rising Natural Burial Ground and Nature Reserve is proud to have been awarded a Green Flag in July 2015. At the time, only one other natural burial country in the country had been awarded a flag, and we are the only site in the region to have one.
The Green Flag award scheme was launched in 1996 to recognise and reward the best parks and green spaces in the country. The rigorous Green Flag judging process measures each site against a list of criteria which includes cleanliness, safety, sustainability, heritage conservation and quality of management. It continues to represent the national standard of excellence against which parks and green spaces are measured. For more information about Green Flags, please check their website, or have a look at the Sun Rising page on their website.
Nature Reserve Burial Grounds has been a member of The Association of Natural Burial Grounds. While we work within their Code of Conduct, we believe our standards to be considerably higher than is required for membership. A pdf of the ANBG Code of Conduct can be downloaded here. The Association is part of the Natural Death Centre, which gives advice about coping with death and funerals generally. They can be reached by telephone on 01962 712690 or throughtheir website:www.anbg.co.uk.
