Sun Rising Awarded a Prestigious Green Flag

We were first awarded a Green Flag in 2015, and not only have we been awarded it ever since, but our points have been rising. As far as we are aware, we are the only natural burial ground to have one in the region, and while three others have been awarded a flag, we are the only small-scale natural buriall organisation to have one. The Green Flag recognises excellence in terms of environmental sustainability, public engagement and care, and every other category you might imagine when it comes to a green space or park that is open for all. We are always looking for a standards body that sets a high enough bar for their acknowledgement to be worth something, and this is one such body. We are very pleased with the award. For more information, check our Standards and Feedback page and the Green Flag website (and our page on their website).

Notes From Sun Rising

Our Blog is up and running. It will be an irregular feature of the burial ground, simply because I don't wish to bore you with unnecessary words, but if you would like to link to it and get our updates we'd love to have you on board. You are welcome to comment.

No Dogs

Please note that it is not permitted to walk dogs at the site. Dogs may be allowed access for funerals and special occasions, or in special circumstances, but only with a pass. Please ask us if you would like more information.
