Directions to Sun Rising Natural Burial Ground

Sign off the A422 (heading South)Sun Rising Natural Burial Ground can easily be found if you follow our directions: we're just off the A422 (Banbury to Stratford upon Avon road). The site is clearly signposted as 'Natural Burial Ground' both before and opposite the turn. From Stratford, turn right just before Sun Rising Hill; it is the second turning signposted to Tysoe. From Banbury, turn left at the bottom of the hill. Don't turn off the A422 until you see the sign!

The postcode is CV35 0DG - however, this is a newly assigned postcode, so do check it is taking you to Tysoe not Kineton! For older systems, use CV35 0BU: this may take you to Orchard Farm Nursery. With the nursery on your left, continue on to where the road bears sharply right at Hopkins Farm; here there is a signpost that directs you left to the 'Natural Burial Ground'.

Entrance SignThere is a road sign on the lane, opposite our own sign at the entrance (which is in the photograph here). If you have any problems, just give us a ring - and if you are meeting us at the site or attending a funeral, remember to use the mobile as there may be nobody in the office : 0779 229 4414.

NB: The office address is in Middle Tysoe, a mile away from the burial ground in the village itself. For funerals, make sure you come to the burial ground near Lower Tysoe. Meetings at the office are by appointment only.

Both Stratford upon Avon and Banbury have railway stations, Stratford is 12 miles away, Banbury 10 miles away.

Wtih regard to buses, STAGECOACH bus numbers 6 and 7 travel between Stratford (Bridge Street) and Banbury (Coach Station), coming through Tysoe. There are only a few each weekday and Saturday, so it is worth checking the website timetable or calling them for confirmation. While the number 7 goes through Lower Tysoe, the number 6 goes down Radway Road and past the burial ground. We are pleased to say that Stagecoach have advised us that passengers on the number 6 may request a drop off at our main entrance, and equally can flag down the bus for it to pick them up.

If you would prefer to take a taxi from the rail stations, we would suggest Stratford Taxis (01789 414007) from Stratford, and Castle Cars from Banbury (01295 270011). Do ask for a quote, including waiting and return journey, when you call them to book a car.

If we can be of further assistance, do let us know.
